Meaningfull Games is a for-profit public benefit corporation (PBC). Its stated mission is to make a positive impact on disease and well-being.
10% of Crab Blast revenue is donated to cancer charities. As its user base grows, Meaningfull Games is committed to growing this donation percentage and cultivating corporate sponsors to create an even larger impact.
Founding Story
Meaningfull Games was founded by a physician passionate about cancer. He grew up surrounded by cancer. His mom was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer when he was 6 years old. While her cancer was treated into remission, treatment side effects included heart failure. Although she received a heart transplant and miraculously lived for 15 more years, her cancer ultimately recurred widely metastatic, and she passed away shortly thereafter. Along the way, many other nuclear family members and friends have been diagnosed, passed away, or are now cancer survivors.
He knows he is not alone in the US or the world in how devastating cancer can be in one’s life. More people are being diagnosed, at earlier ages, and living longer. Cancer burden grows and grows.
In the midst of all of this, he wanted to impact cancer in a big way. He got an MD and MBA. He completed a residency internship. He entered the health tech industry. His heart has remained set on dramatically improving the lives of those impacted by cancer.
But there has been an idea in his head that he could not shake. Ever since 2013, while he was a medical student, and when Candy Crush was released on mobile phones, he has been fascinated by mobile games as an unparalleled global engagement engine. It is mind boggling that mobile games can reliably command the attention of hundreds of millions of monthly active users to spend countless hours and billions of dollars around the world.
He had wondered - for over a decade - “what if time and money playing mobile games could be leveraged for health impact - without sacrificing any fun?”
Meaningfull Games was born to address this opportunity - beginning with cancer and Crab Blast.
